Chicago Public School Outreach

Since its founding in 2008, the Diversity Scholarship Foundation began a Chicago Public School Outreach. The goal of the program is to bring together diverse judges and lawyers and visit various Chicago public schools. During the visits, middle and high school students learn about the different legal paths that lawyers and judges take. They also receive advice on courses to consider when they go to college in order to prepare them for law school. DSF provides the students with pizza and pop and enjoy an hour with members of the legal community. In the past three years, DSF has spoken with over 500 students from Haines Middle School in Chinatown, Galileo Academy of Math Sciences near Taylor Street, Whitney Young High School, Jones High School and more.
